Hotel Bloggers and Reviews

There are many bloggers out there now in the internet world who you can utilise for their expertise in so many fields. Travel is just one that is booming. We love reading about hotels, resorts and of course Paresa in these blogs. They have experienced a lot generally and have something interesting to say or a way to look at things. In luxury resorts, like Phukets Paresa Resort, its up to individual tastes. I know myself, when I search and book a hotel, what it looks like or its style is a determining factor. We dont just book a hotel because it is well known or the best hotel in Phuket for example. We look at its design and feel and decide is that the type of place I would like to stay in or be comfortable staying at on my luxury beach holiday in Phuket. A good example is The Little Black Book of Hotels, they review hotels and resorts and give their personal opinion and experience of these places. Is it right or wrong? Its their opinion and review. With their experience and knowledge of travel and hotels they bring their ideas and perspective to a hotel stay. If you like it and trust their review, then you can book at their website even, a full travel website experience, not just booking site. So the Travel Blog is on the rise and their are many great ones to read and learn more on hotels or resorts from and the travel information you need. Read the review on Paresa Resort or resorts in Bali and even New York here and see for yourself. http://www.thelittleblackbookofhotels.com/

True Story - Destination Wedding with Fireworks!

Our journey to marriage has certainly been an interesting one; I waited for Johnny for six months while he deployed as a soldier to Iraq, then again just two years later, when he was sent to Afghanistan for nine months. Our journey really began though, when a week before we were due to move to the UK, he whisked me away for a surprise trip to New Zealand. It was there, after a short helicopter ride to the top of the Remarkables mountain peaks, that he proposed, knee-deep in snow.
From the day we got engaged, we decided on a destination wedding in Thailand.  The wedding was held at the luxury Phuket resort Paresa and assisted by wedding planners Marry Me Thailand.  The story featured at Polka Dot Weddings.

Must Know Information For Arriving at Phuket International Airport

Paresa Phuket can arrange luxury VIP fast track services and luxury transfers to and from the airport to our luxury Phuket resort.  If staying in our Cielo luxury villa this service is complementary on departure.  With our airport service assisting you through fast track immigration services and to the lounge to await your international flight in comfort.

Alternatively Phuket 101 as detailed about the services and all the information you need to know about arriving and departing through Phuket International Airport in their article below or read it and more info on Phuket HERE;

Phuket Airport

Arriving at Phuket Airport - Everyone knows that the most stressful time for any traveler resides between the leaving home and arriving in a (satisfactory) hotel room. Everything in between is just a long list of things to worry about: taxi, luggage, lost passport, how far is the gate, why is the queue so long, etc. We can't predict everything, but at least we can give you few hints about Phuket International Airport.

On Arrival

Be ready to queue... immigration is a lucky draw, the queue you are about to pick will always be the wrong one anyway. But think about this: even if it goes faster than you expect, your luggage hasn't arrived anyway! So take it easy, you'll get through eventually. Important point, there are 2 luggage claims: Domestic and International. If you did your immigration in Bangkok you will arrive at the Domestic terminal BUT your luggage are waiting in the International terminal. Since you are now aware of that fact, you will quickly spot the sign pointing to the right direction, and it's only 10 meters away out the door.

Getting from Phuket Airport to your Hotel:  You booked your transfer in advance of course? If not you have 4 options.

Airport Limousine:
Best and maybe not as expensive as you think, several counters are located right outside the baggage claims. They might appear a bit pushy and look like touts, but they are not. It's just competition: if they don't convince you, the next counter will (or might). It cost a bit more than taxi meter, but it's hassle free (well most of the time) and prices are clearly displayed (expect 400 to 600 Baht but you get a nice new Camry.)

Taxi Meter:
Located far outside, turn to the right as soon as you step outside and walk all the way to the end of the building... it's not really far.  Make sure taxi turns on the meter! There is a surcharge of 100 Baht for Airport... I haven't use it myself but I will. A reader reported a Phuket Airport-Kamala by Taxi meter cost 400 Baht while it would cost 600 to 700 by limo. There used to be another weird story when taxi would stop on their way at their office and a travel agent would come to the car, trying to convince you to change hotel for all kinds of silly reasons, the real one being their commission of course. (It happened to us too)

The Local Bus:
Seriously? Phuket Airport is on Mai Khao Beach, 30 to 40 km from your hotel and you just did few thousand miles.

Rent a Car:
Easy, they are just outside the domestic gate. If you arrived from international, turn right past the customs (before stepping outside) and walk all the way to the end, you'll see the logos from far anyway. Better take an internationally known brand, and make sure you have your international license... later I'll tell you how fun it is to drive in Phuket! Rates for a Honda Jazz or Honda city start at 1,000 baht/day with insurance. You can rent a GPS for 100 Baht/day.

Other Points about Phuket Airport:

 - There are several ATM past the customs, all from well known banks, so safe to use and exchange rate is good. (I don't cover bad luck cases). - Hotel representatives are not allowed inside the Airport terminal so if you booked a transfer with your hotel, go straight outside and find your name. - Once you picked up your luggage, there is STILL one duty-free shop! Your last chance to pick a bottle of something...

Leaving Phuket:

There are two terminals, but the entrance is the same. Good Tip: if someone drops you, taxi or friend, at the departure terminal and you see a big queue outside the door waiting at the scanner (happens a lot if you leave at the same time as a big charter), ask your driver to drive DOWN  at the ARRIVAL door... there is usually nobody there! Once in, walk either right or left to one of the elevators to reach the second floor. Then send me a thank you mail once home.
In the terminal, there is not much excitement here, especially since you are leaving. Proceeding to the check in counters is simple but time varies, like anywhere else. If you have time to waste there are several restaurants or pubs. Bill Bentley is cool, and Thai Airways restaurant on third floor is comfortable and food is pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend it if your time is short... service can be slow, as well as the bill. I always thought if someone should understand he words 'speed', or 'fast' or 'I'm in a rush but I'm hungry' that would be the Airport staff... wrong guess.

Then you also can pick between local counters, Subway or Burger King (often crowded). If you pass immigration and move inside international lounge, you'll find... oh, surprise: Another Burger King! There is so far only one Duty Free shop for perfumes, alcohol and cigarettes, but you can still find few interesting deals.

Notes

If you plan to leave your car for a domestic flight somewhere, it costs 200 baht per day and finding a parking spot can be stressful at certain hours, so allow extra time. Reaching the airport at the end of the afternoon as well... traffic is very unpredictable.

Some Distances from Phuket Airport:

to Patong: 37.7 km, 53 mins
to Kata : 47.4 km, 1 hour
to Karon : 43.4 km, 1 hour

Way to cool

James Bond style diving!  That sounds like me and an experience I want to have.

The TRITON is for the luxury traveler who has everything, this is a must have.  Makes carrying those bags of dive gear a thing of the past, the Triton would fit in your handbag, Louis Vuitton of course.

I can see many of Phuket luxury resort, Paresa's guests arriving with this nifty little gadget.

Jeabyun Yeon says; We obtain many things from ocean. It becomes a great vacation spot and provides us with many resources. However, many difficulties are involved in using them, among which the most fundamental difficulty is breathing. To use skin scuba equipment, we must learn very complicated procedures. In addition, there are people that cannot enjoy them from being afraid to breathe under water. I’ve come up with a future product that can solve these difficulties.

So before heading to the beaches of Phuket for a luxury vacation and a stay at Paresa Phuket Resort, check out this cool gadget to bring on holiday with you.

Hot New Beach Club on Surin, Phuket.

All new beach club at Surin Beach, Phuket, Thailand. A place of fun, excitement with a touch of Thai. become ADDICTED. #zazadabeachclub #timeforchange

Here, where turquoise seas meet azure skies and sun-kissed white sands, you’ll find a stimulating haven perfect for those who enjoy playtime by the sea.
Vibrant and inspiring, ZAZADA Beach Club is a carefree playground for the adventurous – where entertainment novelties excite, creative culinary amuse and sparkling service engages.
Set upon a strip of pristine beach on the west coast of idyllic Phuket, it’s not often that you’ll encounter nature in such commanding form. Tranquil yet vibrant, soothing yet stimulating.

Sensual by day, seductive by night. Hangout at the beach and let yourself be surprised by the tantalizing tastes from our restaurant and bar. Magical sunsets and pure sounds, flow over the club pool and lounge. Dining, dancing or chilling take on a new meaning at ZAZADA.

Just launched Zazada Beach Club situated on the northern end of Surin Beach and the inspiration of its owner and creator Khun Poompong Patpongpanit is set to be an addictive lifestyle venue.
After developing and launching the luxury resort Paresa in Kamala, Phuket in 2010 Khun Poompong has been searching for the perfect place to develop a beach experience where casual daytime fun merges with sophisticated dining and exhilarating nightlife.
The name Zazada is an abstract interpretation of a sanskrit word for the original or creator of a concept, which in this case has been developed to offer the first Thai styled beach club. This fits well with Khun Poompong a creator, who has travelled the world and experienced a lot of the best restaurants, bars, night clubs, beach clubs and of course luxury hotels. He and his team at Zazada are looking to offer a new, fun and exciting beach club experience not seen in Phuket before with an element of Thai.
Zazada beach club is an impressive design inspired by the Kala or coconut, with high sala style roofs of natural wood tiles blending in seamlessly with the surrounding coconut palms and beach. High ceilings and a vibrant, eclectic scene greets you as you arrive with a live show kitchen in action serving up modern, casual fare. There is a touch of Thai in the feel of Zazada beach club, which envelopes your experience.
The beach club by day has a real chill out feel to it with daybeds and bean bags on the stunning beach serviced by attentive waiters in Thai fisherman pants offering uber cool cocktails or beers from their boutique brew selection. Those who are not lovers of sand and saltwater can escape the heat with a cocktail in the beach clubs infinity pool, the only one on Surin beach.
As the sunsets the music takes on a new dynamic with Zazada’s resident DJ setting the mood for an evening of eclectic food, hedonistic cocktails and pulsing nightlife. Groups of friends will be able to gather beachside on the daybeds with bottles of champagne and indulge in caviar if they dare.
Zazada is set to be the hippest place to cavort in Phuket where dancing on tables late into the night can be expected. Find out more about Zazada http://ow.ly/sAQi3

From Phuket luxury resorts, to the coolest beach club, you can find it all while staying at Paresa Resort.

Songkran 2014

SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2014
The date of the festival was originally set by astrological calculation, but it is now fixed. If these days fall on a weekend, the missed days off are taken on the weekdays immediately following. Songkran falls in the hottest time of the year in Thailand, at the end of the dry season. Until 1888 the Thai New Year was the beginning of the year in Thailand; thereafter 1 April was used until 1940. 1 January is now the beginning of the year. The traditional Thai New Year has been a national holiday since then.

Songkran has traditionally been celebrated as the New Year for many centuries, and is believed to have been adapted from the Sankranti Hindu festival. It is now observed nationwide, even in the far south, here in Phuket. It has also become a party for foreigners and an additional reason for many to visit Thailand for immersion in another culture.

Celebrating at Paresa with our Angels or out on the streets of Phuket is always a great cultural experience not to be missed.
As the traditional drums play and the Angels cleanse you by our Infinity pool for the New Year you look at out the stunning sunset with your loved one and experience an amazing part of Thai culture and Phuket. http://ow.ly/syGZo
